About Dora

Image

Dora is the name I've affectionately given to my "indoor pond" in my apartment in Manhattan. She's a large (65 gallon+) planter which I've waterproofed and built my own internal support structures for shallow water plants. Dora is home to a community of a variety of tropical fish, invertebrates, and submersed, floating, and shallow water plants. Her 'flagship' is a shallow water banana tree which acts as a striking centerpiece for both Dora and the room.

There's also a daily underwater livestream if you ever want to see what's happening below the surface!

As I found both success and joy in breeding fish and shrimp, growing and propagating plants, and culturing my own live foods, I set up Dora's Aquatics as a place to connect and share with the rest of the nationwide fishkeeping community. I hope to continue to expand the range of livestock, products, knowledge, and help that I can share over time.
